Peterbilt owners and fans, as well as past and present employees are expected to gather by the thousands Oct. 25, in Stockton, CA, for a special event celebrating the company’s 75th anniversary.

The event will be held at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. You can read more about this event on their website.

Peterbilt will present more than 400 show trucks covering the company’s entire production history. The anniversary will also include a reunion of current and former employees, vendor exhibits, live music, speakers, and a charity raffle for a Peterbilt Model 359.

Peterbilt’s representatives said, “This will be a very special event bringing together everything that is essential to our 75 years of industry leadership — our customers, our employees and dealers, and our vehicles,” said Darrin Siver, Peterbilt general manager and Paccar vice president. “It will be a celebration of Peterbilt’s past, present and future.”

The show is the brainchild of longtime enthusiast/truck restorer Rick McClerkin, a former Peterbilt employee and owner of Roadway Antique Trucks. The Anniversary Show will feature Peterbilt’s interactive anniversary tour trailer, hauled by a Model 579 Anniversary Edition truck.

McClerkin said more than 150 people have registered and he expects to sell out all 400 truck spaces well before the start of the show. The peoples’ choice truck beauty contest will have five categories — antique conventional, working conventional, antique cabover, working cabover and best of show. Winners will be determined by votes from event attendees. Those attending the event will have a chance to take home a classic truck of their own. The grand prize for the breast cancer research raffle is a 1976 Peterbilt Model 359.

You can also take a look at the Peterbilt anniversary tour trailer that has been travelling across North America visiting Peterbilt dealerships and other trucking events since April. The trailer is a custom-built, double-expandable 53-foot trailer with Peterbilt memorabilia, interactive displays, a history wall display, a Paccar MX-13 engine and cab and sleeper cutaways of Peterbilt’s new Models 579 and 567.

Peterbilt, the American Truck Historical Society, 10-4 Magazine, Chrome and Elegance, Courtland Truck Works, Dynaflex Products, Hogebuilt, Pana-Pacific, Redi-Gro, Roadway Antique Trucks and Rockwood are sponsoring this event, while Coast Counties Peterbilt in San Jose and Valley Peterbilt in Stockton will sponsor the employee reunion luncheon.

Registrations are still being accepted for the truck beauty show, vendor exhibits and event sponsors. If you’re interested in attending, please visit their registration page.
